Is winter coming to my hometown?
It is really cold right now in Vinh city. The
temperature suddenly drops about 10 degrees within a day. This small heat change
was predicted by the weather forecast agency, but I still find it intolerable. That’s
why this post came out of my mind.
An old picture taken under the rain near my
house. Is it beautiful?
It has been a while since the last time I
welcomed the monsoon at my hometown. Unlike Hanoi where it only decreases the
temperature, the monsoon brings continuous drizzles to Vinh city - what makes the
cold even more extreme. Till now, it has rained for two consecutive days
without any interruption. I have to admit that this terrible situation is not
my cup of tea. I am the kind of person who is terrified of the hot and the
cold. I would prefer it be sunny and warm outside. Tell me, what kind of
weather you love?
From scientific view, Vinh is located in the
North Central of Vietnam and in the tropical region that means it has 4
distinctive seasons. The winters are not too freezing and the temperature never
goes below zero degree. However, the summers are boiling hot. The strong winds
from Laos
lower the humidity level, thus I am sure that you will feel like getting burned
whenever you are exposed under the sun. The fact is my hometown always has to
suffer from the severe weather conditions. Last month, a heavy storm came with
flood had killed more than ten people and caused serious economic damage.
Thousands of poultry and cattle were lost. Thoudsands of hectares of crops were
wiped out. Its affects seems to be unbearable.
In my opinion, recent floods in Vietnam are not
caused by the big things like global warming or climate change, what we have
heard on public media day by day. The simple reason could be indiscriminate
cutting down trees in the forests. People have to pay an expensive cost in
return for what they did to the nature. That’s for sure. O__O
