Out of conservative loop...

To begin with, I would like to say happy new year to everybody. We have reached 2018. OMG. Time flies so fast and I am getting older. Today I am gonna note down some lucky, happy, and exhausted moments in the last 2 weeks of my new year. Luck goes first. For the first time ever, I won a Vietlot prize. Vietlot jackpot is now worth approximately $1.5M, which is the biggest lottery prize in Vietnam. Congrattts me. But wait, please calm down. I am not a $ millionaire yet. My prize is  the smallest one which is only 30000 vnd (~1.5$). Haha. I still find it extremely excited and start bragging it with my younger sister because after one year of guessing 6 out of 45 numbers and buying tickets, finally I can go to the lottery agency and get some money back. For the truth, I'll admit, I am not a bookaholic (they are pretty cool, aren't they?). During my teenage years, I had preferred comics rather than novels. Despite the fact that how lazy I was that day, my passion for books was triggered by my elder cousin who spent most of his free time to read. His little brother started to mimic him by going through some pages everyday, accomplishing one or two books every month. Eventually buying books has became an indispensable part of my monthly activities. Last weekend, I found some good stories of a Japanese author, Yashushi Kitagawa, at Nha Nam bookstore near my apartment. The store's brand is among the most favorite booksellers in Hanoi where we can find various kinds of books for all ages. It has been 3 months since the last time I visited my hometown for summer break. It was a blast when I hanged out with my old friends to enjoy fresh and cheap seafoods and couple of beers along the beach. Now the winter is comming, I got 4 day-off including weekend to take some rest and take part in a small family-event which I want to share on my blog. My hometown is Vinh, the city of Nghe An province. It is located in the North Central of Vietnam, beside the River Lam. I was born and raised there before I moved to Hanoi capital for the university entrance 8 years ago. Nghe An is well known for the birthplace of President Ho Chi Minh who is the founder of Viet Nam . Despite today is Saturday, I am still doing my job at the company like a normal weekday. It is one of our company’s labor rules that the last Saturday of every month is working day. Taking free time, I do some searches on the Internet and summary the figures and various opinions about working on the weekend. Need to take some fresh air over a breath-taking view~ First, I am going to demonstrate some statistics of the estimated numbers of people have to spend their weekends on businesses. An article on forbes.com surveyed 1000 Americans and found that approximately 70% worked at least one weekend a month, with 63% saying that their employers expected them to put in time on average Saturday and Sunday. What a number. However, it does not surprise me at all. From my experience, when I was a Samsung engineer, I myself had to work on two Saturdays a month, same number in Viettel’s offer letter.
